Whiteley rides five winners at Murwillumbah
Racenet
Monday, 11 May 2009

Chris Whiteley capped off a memorable day's riding at Murwillumbah on Sunday when he steered Surety to victory in the feature event - the $12,000 Ross Brims Bulk Transport Cup (1510m) – the jockey’s fifth winner at the meeting.

For Whiteley it was the second time that he had pulled off such an extraordinary career achievement, and a reminder why his talents are much sought after throughout northern NSW and south east Queensland.

Whiteley opened his account in the first of the day, a 1200-metre open handicap for two year olds aboard Esprit Soleil ($1.80 favourite).

After a midfield finish in the second race, Whiteley was soon back in the winner’s circle, taking out the next four races in succession with Deisel Force ($2.10), Master Mozart ($5) Ephraim Warrior ($4.20) and Surety ($3.20).

It was on board Surety where Whiteley was able to demonstrate more than a usual array of class riding abilities.

For Ballina trainer Stephen Lee, Surety's success notched-up win number four for the day, all of them achieved with Whiteley in the saddle.

The next meeting at Murwillumbah is Murwillumbah Cup Prelude Day on Sunday, May 31.

tigerman, you would have noticed a warning pop up warning that you are using CAPS.
It is considered shouting, could you please only use them when necessary.
