Singapore Mon Trackwork by Takeover, Pompeii & Sarrera
In Singapore, Australian-bred multiple Gr1-winners Takeover Target (Celtic Swing-Shady Stream, by Archregent), Pompeii Ruler (Genuine-West With Night, by Pompeii Court) & Sarrera (Quest For Fame-Zamsong, by Zabeel) all appeared on the Kranji track yesterday morning in the countdown to next Sunday's Gr1 Singapore Airlines International Cup & Gr1 KrisFlyer International Sprint.
Defending KrisFlyer Sprint winner Takeover Target "looked bright within himself as he trotted a lap of the Polytrack before cantering," noted the official trackwork report from the Singapore Turf Club. Trainer Joe Janiak had been concerned about the rising 10-year-old after he left some of his feed on Sunday morning (following his arrival on Saturday evening), but Takeover Target "was back on his feed on Sunday & Janiak was a happy man when he saw his charge 1st thing Monday morning". Janiak confirmed: "He ate up last night which was pleasing. I just think he may have fretted when he first got here & left some of his feed. He usually has a companion when he's been away before & this is something new for him. But he's back on track this morning. He's back eating & drinking & I'm happy with his condition."
International Cup contestants Sarrera & Pompeii Ruler "were both out for light exercise, trotting & cantering a lap of the Polytrack". Clare Rayner (assistant to Sarrera's trainer Mike Moroney) commented: "Looking at him, he's taken it all within his stride. He's adapted well so far to his new conditions & seems to be handling the humidity quite well. He's a lovely horse to handle. He's eaten up, drank plenty & has settled in beautifully." Pat Payet (travelling foreman for Pompeii Ruler's trainer Mick Price) said: "I've travelled with this horse to Dubai & the more he travels the better he gets. He's adapted pretty well to his new conditions & is coping pretty well with the humidity." Payet added Pompeii Ruler had arrived in Singapore "a fit & healthy galloper & would only need 1 serious gallop before Sunday's race" noting: "The boss (Price) is due to come up on Wednesday & I would say that we'll probably give him a gallop on the turf on Thursday. But saying that, if the boss rings up tonight to say gallop him tomorrow, then that's what I'll do."

i think pompeii ruler will run a big race

I agree Da Judge, But he is way under the odds on our totes.

I think Presvis is as close to a good thing as you can get, but there is a slight hint of a front or fence bias and that is knocking my confidence just a little.
