Yeah, not knocking the guy, he's been in great form.
Gotta get one wrong every now and again.
Hard to defend that ride.
I wonder if the connections were as supportive as Mr Fowler???

He asked the stewards to declare Risk Aversion a non runner because of the start. As she had
finished third there was no case to even look at.

Just confirms something I was talking to a mate about the other day, that a lot of sportsmen
do not know the rules of their sport.

A horse was deemed a non runner after finishing third @ Caulfield one day, think it was called Sarah Michelle.

That is I think the race which caused the rules to be changed.

And a dud rule it is.  What about us poor punters who back a horse who is denied a fair start for a win when it is placed.  Surely there is a case for declaring it a non runner, then the club/controlling body pay out the appropriate money to connections.  It happens so rarely it would not cost anything, and would keep every one sweet.

I know we have discussed this before but I would have been most unimpressed if the rule had not been
changed and RV had been a non runner as I had a decent collect on the trifecta.
