Ok,

DD & Ascot, he is your chance to bag the  censored out of this site.

I am willing to answer your cricts answers but even better if we get few responses--I will try and get Pursher to give some response.

Let's go !!

PS: I am not in any way assoicated with JR site or Pursher--I live in NSW but I do subscribe.

Chuggers

Sounds like an invite to get a letter from a lawyer.  I will just stick to the facts here.

But since you bring the JR point up, how about these little examples just from this week alone:

The site says this week that Apache Cat had a new strapper this year.   Don't think so.  Was the same girl I spoke last year.  Maybe they were talking about someone else.

And how about the photo of the kickback last Sat at Doomben.  It was based on a photo of a field over the crossing at the 1600M.  That crossing is made of cinders covered liberally with grass clippings.  Of course it kicks back as the photo shows.  But the rest of the course proper was kicking back far less than that photo implied.  It was a credit to the staff that it played so remarkably.

Then a week back JR made a big show about other journos not getting the facts before they publish stories.  JR was right of course about the Court Command story.  Give credit where it was due...it was a good story, but we still got the self praising comments that JR always checks the facts.  Not always the case in my experience.

If the JR product suits you and you are happy to toss cash at it then I wish you and JR good luck.  But for those that read the blogs like JR for the fun of it, then let us  have our say too if we disagree with the content.  Blimy, isn't that what Forums are about?

By the way, the new website called  http://horseracingonly.com.au/ is going terrific with a big trifecta tip last Sat plus a wealth of very professionally written stories and photographs.  A highly recommended site for racing minded folk.

Credit where credit due:

Justracing found a good winner at Ipswich yesterday in Race 2 which Phil Purser covered on his Sydney site.

PAYMORE

I’ve spotted this horse being sore in his last couple of preparations. If he’s 100% right here, he’s the horse to beat.

CONCLUSION: I’d back Paymore each way. I’m sure he’s the best horse in the race if he’s 100% sound.

Started 13/1. Not sure what it paid on Unitab but the $23 in NSWTab was sweet.

And no, my surname is not Purser.  wink

Yes, good pick. Thumb Up

But I lost the $22 I'd won when he told me not to back Mitanni.

So all square. smiley

Telling someone NOT to back a winner is a bigger sin than tipping a loser, IMO.

I think these events from Ippy exemplify the debate.  Like anyone, the JR bloke tips winners and losers.  No crime in that.

But how could someone who mercilessly praises the wonders of the (you pay me for) sectionals get a race so wrong?  Just look at the "informed" comments for the Eye Liner result:

Mittani (winner): I’m not convinced he’s got another black type win in him (a knock).
Hornblower (2nd): he’s weighted up to his best here. (was that a tip or a knock?)
Voice Comm (3rd): Not for me (a knock)
Maxisun (4th): I'm not convinced he's any "put in and take out job". (got that one right)

Then note the ones the source of all sectional knowledge tipped ran 4th / 11th / 12th / 14th.

Very ordinary shooting from a self proclaimed authority.  Where is the cred in that?

But that bloke doesn't charge for tips and fictional times and tell the world he's the best thing for racing since Eagle Farm.

That's the difference.

REMEMBER TWO PP THINGS

PP tipped the $250 Slipper quinella  --  and the F4, with the two favourites added, paid some $4000.

PP has taken a stand against 'glue on shoes' for Black-Prince reasons that were persuasive for me.

Punters looking for an edge would be wise to see what he says each week, for free.

GT, I think what he's trying to say is that he reads the Stewards' reports and newspaper items on Paymore's problems. rolleyes

But ya don't need to give reasons for picking a winner.   lol

So first he was an outstanding form analyst, then he became an outstanding journalist. Apparently from there he became Australias' best conditioner of horses( when you bag Bart Cummings etc. You must be better than them) and now according to his latest rant Phill is also a master Greenkeeper/curator and can do better than anyone else.
It takes a whole family of Freedmans to achieve what Phill can do.
Oh Wait.... The Freedmans actually do all of those things , not just bag everyone else that does.
Reminds me of a quote
" Pay no attention to what the critics say. No statue has ever been erected to a critic"

The guy is a genius.

Every day he's turning down multi-million-dollar offers to fly to Dubai, Kentucky, Ascot - you name it - as a consultant.  He's got talents that no other human in racing can even aspire too.

As has been said, why he's still working and hawking tips is one of life's mysteries.
