Having just his second ride in public - the first having come at the Curragh on Sunday on Coat Of Arms - the 16-year-old had to get serious with the 7-4 favourite as Chebona Bula and Keagan Latham challenged hard, but was never going to be denied and won by a length and a half.
Mother Ann Marie led the victorious duo into the parade ring to meet the winning trainer, who said: "I really appreciate the owners giving him the chance to ride, and the 10lb claim was a big help. It's great to be here to see it.
"Joseph has ridden plenty of work, but you can't beatrace experience. His mum was quite a good jockey but I don't know about his dad!"
