Sumthink out to continue Healey purple patch
Warren Huntly
Tuesday, 2 June 2009

Mornington trainer Peter Healey has his stable firing on all cylinders and is hopeful his winning run can continue with Justsay Sumthink in the Golden Chariot Handicap (1600m) at Betfair Park Sandown on Wednesday.

Justsay Sumthink has finished no further back than fourth in her last five runs and was rewarded with a deserved victory last week.

‘She’ll back up, she’s absolutely spot-on,” Healey said.

Michael Rodd retains the ride on Justsay Sumthink after being aboard for her last-start win and the leading jockey has formed a strong association with Healey.

“Michael (Rodd) knows her (Justsay Sumthink) well now and I don’t need to burden him with instructions,” he said.

“If there’s good pace on we can take a sit but we can lead and dictate if that’s the best option.”

Although Justsay Sumthink has been racing consistently, Healey believes her record could be even better than it is.

“You could mount a case to say that she (Justsay Sumthink) should’ve won her last five starts,” he said. “She’s been very unlucky on a few occasions.”

Another last-start winner from Healey’s stable is Mr Sargood and he will have his next start at Moonee Valley during Monday’s Queen’s Birthday public holiday meeting.

“We’ve nominated him (Mr Sargood) for Flemington on Saturday but I think Moonee Valley’s a better option,” Healey said
