Thought I would start a thread for tips and general chatter and even any questions that newbies or oldies may have for the
guys that log on here alot...

If you have a question for a trainer like geoff about a problem with a horse and how to fix it or...

A question for someone that owns a horse or even some advice on form/opinion for an upcoming race..

So don't be bashful any newies...Ask questions here ...

So don't be bashful any oldies...Post tips or if you just like one for the day here....

Just some ideas but even how you think a race will pan out can help another forumite...

A thread to help everyone out about the great sport of Harness Racing.......   Thumb Up Thumb Up

Well if the stewards at Canberra don't put out Amy Day then they were in on a corrupt race.

I didn't have a bet.

The 2nd fav was well backed on betfair and went to the front and the fav was pulled straight to last and sat there without making any run until 400m to go. Problem was the leader went 66 for 1st half.

It was a dead drive plain and simple and not even well hidden.

Michael Marais team is on fire with another first up winner, this time Heza Brite Native scoring impressively at Kilmore 27/01/2010. This has a certain ring to it. There are some very strong similarities to Jacob Oram his other recent impressive first up winner. Both trotters were trained by M J Watts and are recent additions to Marais camp, both off marks and driven aggressively leading within first lap, both have found immediate form and both smashed on the tote just prior to race time.

This has been remarkably great timing for Marais who has recently arrived back from an overseas trip to Thailand, topping up his pockets with lots of cash. He's back in fine form and his horses are running like “cut snakes” and should be feared like venomous trotting machines. Maybe just very maybe those Thailand snakes have taken a liking to Marais and have just rubbed off on him and his trotters.

It has had a few forced upon him by stewards a few times in the past. Marais was outed by Harness Racing Victoria steward’s year after two of his trotters, Noam and Heartbroke, returned elevated bicarbonate levels back in 2003. He did not appeal against the disqualifications of one year each, served concurrently. He also was suspended for six months by NSW Greyhound and Harness Racing Regulatory Authority stewards following the conclusion of an inquiry into his beaten drive on $2 favorite Nosmokingjoecola at Harold Park back in early 2005. Marais was charged with not giving Nosmokingjoecola every chance to win or obtain the best possible position in the race won by Pink Whiz.

I switched over to SKY before the tennis started and they were scoring up for the 4th at Penrith trots.

The 5 Lachlan Craig broke in the scoreup, didn't intefere with anything and Cameron Fitzpatrick put his hand in the air and the starter aborted.

The reason was he claimed he had broken gear, they scored up again, this time LC jumped straight to the lead and the favourite galloped but off they went on their merry way Undecided

LC led all the way and won @ 15's nowink

Michael Bellman's drive on Hitemup was a shocker at Terang. stays back just long enough to make his run when it's all over. Hope the stewards give him a few questions as the horse was a short  favourite

Did anyone see the Trot at Maryborough on Wednesday.

My understanding of the rules is that when a horse comes 3 deep to go to death then he or she must be clear of death seat horse before he can cross.  Chris Alford was not clear of Red Hot Special but poor Hayden Gray got the blame.  Stewards said to him that he is supposed to restrain and let the 3 deep horse in.  What a load of Crap!!!!  They are not the rules!!!

RACE 6 – SEELITE WINDOWS & DOORS TROTTERS HANDICAP

Pre-race blood samples were taken from Red Hot Special.

Puerto Bonus, which swung sideways at the start before being slow to begin, will be excluded from the barrier draw in future stands.

Due to the indiscretions of Puerto Bonus both Mosquito Maverick and Onlyonewoman were checked shortly after the start.

Haydon Gray (Red Hot Special) was cautioned for driving where there was insufficient room leaving the front straight on the first occasion where his horse contacted the sulky wheel of Yankee Princess and raced roughly.

Master In Command NZ had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the race contacting marker pegs.

Chris Alford (Yankee Princess) explained that he elected to shift from the position outside the leader racing down the back straight on the first occasion to be positioned four back on  the marker pegs as the horse is second up from a spell and he feels that it is not strong enough to sit outside the leader and be competitive. The comments of Alford were noted.

Another way to lose a race when it was nigh on certain to win.  Enjoy a Coldie is a full brother to Enjoy a Crownie.

That bloke on Sheezallatitude( winner of the 2nd Menangle) hardly ever took his eyes of the pursuers.

Is that okay by the laws of trotting (or whatever they are)
