This Wednesday's gallops  meeting at Doomben is the final race meeting that will be under the control of the Brisbane Turf Club.
This club has a history worthy of a book, but that's for somebody else to do.

I'm proud to say I've been a member of the BTC for many years and have attended most Saturday meetings and have had a winner or two at Doomben as an owner.

The current board will move on to other things, some will stay as part of the new BRC.

A couple of forum members in Ascot and Meynink will have their last official duties on Wednesday and both these guys have done a great job(as have the rest of the board) in what must have been the most difficult of times to officiate with all the changes that have and are about to take place.

I look forward to having a beer with the guys this Wednesday in what will be be an historic day for the BTC.

Good to see some reasonable sized fields in the 2 distance races on the card. There are 11 acceptors in the 2020m Maiden and 14 in the 2200 m Class 3.I am sure these races will be far more entertaining than watching the quarter horse racing - well actually 800m races - that we see far too regularly at Ipswich.

the history of the btc will be preserved in the new brisbane racing club.....kudos to the board members who punted bob bentley and his lunatic ideas to close/take dates/sell to his devolper mates
suck eggs to the directors who didnt and blindly followed the fatally flawed despised despot bob bentley bye

Will be a long night if a horse carrying yellow and black wins the penultimate.

It was really tough at times.   You should have heard the tantrum from the Kiwi when he missed out on this because he stayed in the bar with Mono.

Ascot woulda collapsed had one of them breathed on him.  Particularly the red.

UNiTAB has put up fixed odds markets for tomorrow.

I've backed HUNTERS MOON the drum at $2.33, and I reckon JOUER LE JEU will get into the hole, as well.  Shade short at present.  Maybe. chin

The lass in red is Miss World Australia.  She never once asked where DD or Mono were.

Momentous day for Brisbane racing when BTC conducted its last race meeting at Doomben.

Unusual number of people from the southside of the river turned up to mark the occasion.
