This Wednesday's gallops  meeting at Doomben is the final race meeting that will be under the control of the Brisbane Turf Club.
This club has a history worthy of a book, but that's for somebody else to do.

I'm proud to say I've been a member of the BTC for many years and have attended most Saturday meetings and have had a winner or two at Doomben as an owner.

The current board will move on to other things, some will stay as part of the new BRC.

A couple of forum members in Ascot and Meynink will have their last official duties on Wednesday and both these guys have done a great job(as have the rest of the board) in what must have been the most difficult of times to officiate with all the changes that have and are about to take place.

I look forward to having a beer with the guys this Wednesday in what will be be an historic day for the BTC.

Ascot woulda collapsed had one of them breathed on him.  Particularly the red.

UNiTAB has put up fixed odds markets for tomorrow.

I've backed HUNTERS MOON the drum at $2.33, and I reckon JOUER LE JEU will get into the hole, as well.  Shade short at present.  Maybe. chin

Sportsbet were reasonably kind in their deductions.  Following the scratching of favourite Regal Castanea, they removed just 19c in the $1.  Was expecting more.

Momentous day for Brisbane racing when BTC conducted its last race meeting at Doomben.

Unusual number of people from the southside of the river turned up to mark the occasion.

And some from East of the river turned up as well.

Is this related to the school lesson they were taken to the races a while back?

thanks for the day Mono and Ascot (thanks for arranging for us 3 aliens to get the right enclosure tickets to avoid arrest at the gate by the diligent official!)

Good to catch up DD, and well punted those place bets.

We've drawn bad tomorrow, so maybe your place prognostication can work again in race 3...

cheers

Yes, PF.  Always good to catch up. lol beer thumbsup

Best of British tomorra.  You've found a tricky field (as you would already know).  No spring carnival prospects though.  I'm looking at DECEPTION BAY the place.

Prince Frolic, that gate man does a good job keeping out the rif raf.  I only made an exception because I can't stand it when Momo cries.

What's the runner in R3 EF?  I won't get to the races until R6 so good luck in the interim.
