Chinchilla Rose is the one to beat. She will miss the strat by a length and settle back near last and just rocket home over the top of them.

Trifecta on Tuesday ( could not care less about barriers)

  Thumb Up

I hope the bookies feel the same way.

Whilst she does not have a great strike rate she has AWESOME form for a race like this.

There was nothing flukey about her last start win, she was a moral beaten over 1100m, and 1400m is her pet trip.

DANEHILL SMILE
This ran a great race last start.

The Winter stakes has produced some great winners in the past.

And she needs it wet. This is a much stronger race. I like Forensics e/w, Snowden might just show em that he can train all right.

Will only start if track is wet according to report this morning.

Bailey Sweats On Soft For Saint
Tuesday, 16 June 2009: Grand Prix Stakes winner Saint Minerva was a surprise nomination for Saturday's Group 1 Winter Stakes and trainer Alan Bailey will run the filly – but only on a soft track.

The talented filly was a five length Class 1 winner two starts back before stepping up in grade to the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes over 2200m at Eagle Farm.

After settling midfield the filly ran right away from her rivals in the straight, scoring a six length win over Markus Maximus.

Bailey resisted the temptation of backing up in the Queensland Derby but has thrown the filly in Saturday's 1400m race after doing so well.

“She's done really well after she won last start,” Bailey said. “We thought if she freshened up and does well and if we get a wet track, we'll run her.”

Queensland's weather has been perfect over the last week but the forecast for this weekend is showers through to Saturday.

Bailey said Saint Minerva  is likely to need a soft track to contest the shorter race to make it a tougher test for the opposition.

“We're just sitting on the fence but we've nominated her and the forecast is for showers later in the week.”

Sunshine tomorrow ,then showers the rest of the week....not good if your looking for a dry track.

Looks a sooper dooper race and I daresay there won't be a better fillies' and mares' event anywhere in Australia this racing year. Thumb Up

Those questioning Chinchilla should be very cautious.  She's one top performer.  Her EF win was one of the wins of the BWRC.

Let's hope the rain holds off and the top-liners front up.

Assuming the track stays some where around the good to dead range, Forensics looks to have distinct class edge on this lot.
