With a lead of over $300,000 from his nearest pursuer, Fastnet Rock, Charge Forward looks to have an unassailable lead for first season sire honours.
The Group 1 winning son of Red Ransom is one of a handful of stallions to earn a fee increase this year.
After covering for a fee of $24750 for four years, Charge Forward will serve his fifth book of mares at Arrowfield Stud this spring at a fee of $27,500.

Easy Win for Charge Forward FillyTara Madgwick - Thursday, 24 September 2009

Last season’s champion first crop sire Charge Forward has been a tad slow off the mark this season, but posted an impressive winner at Sale on Thursday in the shape of the Mark Kavanagh trained filly Hidden Charges.

Placed at two of her three starts last preparation, Hidden Charges relished the step up to 1400 metres at her second run back from a spell, careering away at the finish to win by three lengths in a dominant display.

A $140,000 purchase for Slade Bloodstock from the Arrowfield draft at the 2008 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Hidden Charges is the first foal of former top class racemare Ain’t Seen Nothin’.

A stakes-winner of eight races and more than $600,000 in prizemoney, Ain’t Seen Nothin’ was also Group One placed in the MRC Underwood Stakes.

Ain’t Seen Nothin’ had a filly by Starcraft fetch $270,000 at Magic Millons this year and has another yearling colt by Starcraft in the pipeline.
