A South Australian trainer has been fined over a positive swab from a winning galloper at a famous NSW meeting.

North Plympton trainer Peter Blanch was fined $6,000 during a Racing NSW inquiry on Monday.

His galloper Cool Saab tested positive to the banned substance tranexamic acid after winning at Broken Hill’s St Patrick’s Race Club meeting on March 28.

Blanch pleaded guilty to administering a veterinary product known as Vasolamin which contains tranexamic acid.

Cool Saab was disqualified as the winner of the Rating 67 handicap.

The breach was Blanch’s first offence in a 17-year training career.
