A thread for horses with big wraps who fail miserably when first tested.

Given the record for some of us as judges this thread could be a rich lode of future winners.

Soft Sand was stupidly placed today.

She came from a mile off the pace at Sandown. It never equates to Caulfield unless they are stepped up in trip.

She is a good filly. Hopefully her trainer does not stuff her up in these short course garbage races. Get her to a mile+ quick smart.

What makes you think she is looking for longer?  I am not sure she even really gets 1100m on todays run.

It was amazing she got as close as she did. Everything about her indicates a mile plus.

It was a very good ride from Oliver as far as todays race was concerned, Hopefully it does not harm her in the future.

She is bred to stay all day and the few shots I have seen on TVN in the mounting she does not look like a sprinter.

She should stay and as I have said elsewhere the excuses are already lined up if she fails to reach her potential.

JWH   If above happened in a harness race the usual suspects would be on about it being dead & so on, that`s what`s got my goat at the moment. On this board Autho posted his point and people move on.

Wasn't watching that race real close as I had little interest in it(financially) but didn't Glows get the run of the race with cover behind the leader? Katelyn (on the winner) made her intentions clear she wanted the lead, Glows jockey had 2 choices? Take the Box seat or try to hold out the 20/1 pop and set the race up for the odds on fave?? Didn't Glows get a rails run at the top of the straight? she had cover all the way, never left the fence, got the run when she wanted it and still couldn't run down the leader who had done all the work?? She was narrowly beaten??

Now you (camelJockey)are inferring she was dead?? Why?? Why?? Why?? What did I miss???? chin

Matt I can understand you being disappointed but can't see how you can blame the Jockeys tactics?? what
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, would love to back the Jockey that could ride with hindsight   lol lol
Easy to say he was wrong after the race, you can't be proven wrong can you??   biggrin

P.S. I could have the wrong race so if the above observation is way off the mark kindly disregard this post   lol lol lol

No Jim just saying with all the shit on the harness board at the moment the inference of it being dead would have been made

Sorry I didn't read the harness board, don't have enough time to master Thoroughbreds to even think about Standardbreds lol   lol
