Anyone else give Roman Emperor a chance? Ill probably be backing him and Red Ruler e/w, and couple them up with Kirklees and PP.

Yeah, I do.

Probably won't be my top pick but he's drawn well and with his early speed he should get the run of the race. With P Pricer drawn wide, it wouldn't surprise me if the race panned out very similar to this years AJC Derby.

Anywhere online i can see the 2007 Caulfield Cup?

That and many more races including the international runners.

Nice win by Master O in 07 when he was midfield in the running.

08 Duric had him at the tail of the field but only beaten less than three lengths, he will be well back again this year with barrier 18.

I'm not sure that Red Ruler will go so well on the Dead track,  I can't go past Viewed to be honest, Daffodil and Kirklees are my other two..  Having said that it's a very open race and going through the form today I narrowed it down to about 9 that could win it!  Tough day all around in my opinion..

I think Daffodil is a special.  Her run in the NZ Oaks was reminiscent of Kiwi's Cup win.
Okay, she finished fourth but when you look up "train" in the dictionary, it says Daffodil.
Her win in Sydney was exceptional (Allz Wonder 15th).
Don't know her wet track form but she is a Kiwi.

A lot of talk of wet tracks, but I really don't think it's an issue.  Last Saturday was track-record-fast.  This week Melbourne has had about 10mm.  (Drizzling now, but that'll only be another 0.5mm.)  'Clearing showers' forecast this morning.  Depending on what is in the 'clearing showers', it will race somewhere between good 3 - dead 5.

Been a while since Bart has won a Caulfield Cup so it'll be quite exciting when he wins it tomorrow.

I was on him (RR) last year when he was going much better - had every chance and could only finish 5th. Can't see him figuring to be honest.

And Ratsack - if Zavite runs a place I will give up.  Thumb Down

daffodil - looks like it will super competitive- the run before the oaks was special - and then a dominant performance there - got to be a good horse to run a quicker final 600 than doncasterat the end of 2400

Pred pricer - really keen as well,  but have concerns that they have stated will be ridden back , happy with him midfield - but you generally don't win C cup's from worse than mid field - also my notes say prefer him in blinkers (is this his 1st start this prep with removed?)

pass on kirkless esp at the price - travel sick when arrived and word is he still doesn't look great
cima has to be great chance - though word is damien not quite as confident as he's appearing in media

Both of Bart's horses look to be genuine chances & although this is not the easiest betting race, I'll be putting both Viewed & AlleZ Wonder into my F4 & Tri

Ok this is how I see the race (in order)

Top 3

Daffodil
Kiklees
Predatory Pricer

Dangers

Cima De Tripmohe / Allez Wonder / Vigor / Shocking

Blowouts

Viewed / C'Est La Guerre / Master O'Reilly / Roman Emperor

My main bet will be on Daff with a save on Kirklees.

GO THE MIGHTY MARE!!!!  flowers

Yes I'm a Daffodil fan and have been for a while.
My only worry is that she has drawn too well in and getting trapped in on the fence last start was  her undoing .

She seems to do her best work when allowed to drop back and come home down the outside .
Trainer did report she was ridden more handy last start but the tactics didn't work so they will revert to dropping her back.

With any luck she will be the one flashing home out wide to claim the prize. Thumb Up

The others to make up the tri for mine are Kirklees,Master O'Reilly,Allez Wonder,Light Vision and if wet will have to throw in a real roughie in Sarrera.
