Think about these Miss Universe facts;
a) of the last 9 Miss USAs (ie. 2000 onwards), 5 have finished in the top-5, despite none winning.
b) the three blondes in that time have finished 3rd, 2nd and 5th. (2001, 2004, 2006)
c) only once before this decade has the USA gone two consecutive years without finishing top 5. That was 2002/3. Miss USA 2008 was unplaced (but made the top 10), so the USA is again "due".
e) only one Miss USA this decade has failed to make the top 15.
f) The USA has the most ever winners, ie. 7. Traditionally countries who have high TV ratings for the pageants fare well.
On that basis, I would have thought Miss USA 2009 should be around $1.95, so I'm getting on the $2.75. I might be mad, but I think the numbers stack up."
