Sky's thoroughbred station, which will operate 24/7, will cover the best three meetings in Australia as well as New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore during a time slot from either 9am or 10am to 9pm or 10pm.

The coverage would then swing to At The Races for the next 12 hours, including events from UK, Ireland, Europe, United Arab Emirates and the US.

Sky remained coy on a launch date, but The Daily Telegraph understands the premium racing channel, Sky 1, as it will be known, will operate from February or March next year.

The introduction of Sky 1 will ease the logjam of races, dogs and trots on the current schedule.

Sky will cover the minnow racing codes on a channel to be known as Sky 2, which will also increase coverage and the ability to showcase their major meetings. Sky 1 and Sky 2 would be covered on Foxtel and AUSTAR.

TVN last month rejected Sky's offer for a 50/50 partnership that embraced Australian and international racing.

While Tabcorp, which owns Sky Channel, says the merger deal is still on the table, its move to launch its own premium channel will pro- gress regardless.

Tabcorp will also make further entry into the media world with a major newspaper poised to become its official form guide from October 1.

Last Thursday's Victorian Supreme Court decision in favour of Tabcorp against Racing Victoria over its racefields legislation is now likely to have ramifications for interstate racing and codes who followed the RVL model.

Atlast, technical teams are investigating.  Interestingly and as observed last week performance of skyform seems much better through the skyracing site. Cheers, philby

Cheers Philby.
This was a beef i had for many years with Sky about just missing replays and not showing trials etc when they could have, i know its not your fault and i appreciate your efforts.
I just think it still shouldn't be happening, it is a metro meeting.
Anyhow, cheers.

Thanks Philby, do you mean this site: http://skyracing.com.au/racing/->http://skyracing.com.au/search/searchtodays.php?st=1

or this one http://skyracing.com.au/tab/form/index.php

or is there another route??

The latter is very well set out for doing the form

Gratefully, Atlast2

Dragons, it shouldn't have happened.  The Sky team are improving procedures to ensure metro t’breds venues are automatically selected for replay.  The Sky team is keen to ensure a repeat does not occur.  Cheers, Philby

Atlast2, I typically go to www.skyracing.tv, then I click on the racing link, then I click on the Skyform link.  Cheers, Philby

Philby i appreciate you enquiring and this is not directed at you but honestly.
I used to ring Sky and blow up that i couldnt see Kembla or Newcastle replays on a saturday but they would replay Hong Kong on wednesdays and they would never show Nowra etc etc
They have been at it for over 20 years , have 3 channels and its not good enough.
Again not directed at you Philby at all mate.

Thankfully TVN is showing it and it sharnt be interrupted.

You have to wonder why TABCORP is not betting on it, but I do not care about the betting I just want to watch.

Thanks for your feedback/interest on Dubai.  We are covering 4 races tomorrow night.  Tonight couldn't be accommodated in the schedule. Cheers, P2
