This would be have to be  the most inefficient body in racing. They heard Ron Maund's appeal on the same day as the Rocklea one 27 July and although they wasted little time in giving the thumbs down to both, their Reasons in Maund's case haven't been posted on the web. Thumb Down

Pathetic, and  the Racing Minister would shake them up if he ever wakes up from being asleep at the wheel. Thumb Down

There's been a flurry of activity since the original post complaining of the delay in putting up the reasons for  Ron Maund's decision.

One appeal of more than ordinary interest especially for owners who arrange for their trainer to find a buyer for their castoffs is the finding that stewards have no jurisdiction to deal with a complaint that the trainer didn't pass on all the proceeds of the sale to the original owners.

The case involved a horse sold for $5000 but only $4000 was accounted for to the sellers.A part owner discovered this and complained to stewards who dealt with the trainer who subsequently appealled to the first level committee which found the stewards had no jurisdiction to deal with it and an appeal by the stewards to the RAT met the same fate.
