The Japanese Bloodhorse Breeders' Association announced former Coolmore shuttler & champion 2YO Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) has been purchased from Kentucky-based Ashford Stud & will begin stud duty next season at JBBA Shizunai Stallion Station in Hokkaido. Now 10-year-old Johannesburg (currently in Argentina for the Southern Hemisphere season) won all 6 starts as a 2YO (including the US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, French G1 Prix Morny, UK G1 Middle Park Stakes & Irish Gr1 Phoenix Stakes, plus the Gr3 Norfolk Stakes & Gr3 Anglesey Stakes); he also finished runner-up in the Gr3 Gladness Stakes as a 3YO & retired with 5 wins from 7 starts for US$1,015,599 earnings
