Trying to lose some weight, since I have stopped working with the GG's, I have ballooned from around 90kg, to 105.

I have got some weight loss shakes, and am going to cut back on my meal sizes (which is hard as the wife is such a good cook tears ) and frequency.

I am going to use this thread to help remind and motivate me, and to track my progress.

Have also got a treadmill next to my work station, so ill endeavour to carve out some miles smiley

8kgs overweight isn't much. Better to be 8kgs over and be happy than lose the 8 and be miserable cause you cant eat the food you like. Skinny people die early too.

Hovering just under the 98kg mark, 97.8kg this morning, with out any increase in exercise, well any excercise at all really, haven't had a game of golf for over a month sad

But the funny thing is, I feel much fitter now.

Down at least 8 kg's from what I was when I started (105kg maybe a bit more), and with out even exercising, I feel 100% better.

Can mow the lawn now with out feeling like I am going to pass out, can walk around the track with very little effort

All this with out exercising, and just losing a little bit of weight chin

Great stuff Magic, keep it up  Thumb Up

You might want to add a LITTLE bit of exercise if you feel you're up for it - can go a long way.

Well done Magic. The amazing thing is that weight loss is adding years to your life. Keep it up and it doesn't matter if you lose 1kg or 1 gram a week, it's all positive.

Lot to be gained by ensuring your liquid intake is heathy as well.

Obviously cutting back on the booze if you enjoy a drink is the way to go - unless you're really making radical changes in your life don't aim for the unrealistic - but reducing intake - yes!

But it's the other stuff as well, switch to lowest fat milk if you drink it - ditch 99% of the fizzy drinks. Orange juices etc - a lot of them are just rubbish. I no longer have sugar in cups of tea [I think black tea needs it so I no longer drink it - switched to some of the green/chai flavourings - very nice]. I'm back to one sugar in a coffee - use sacharine when it's available. I'm on lots of water these days.

Have put down a fair amount of weight loss to better drinking habits.

I try not to drink any milk, and or eat any diary products Steve, I have just found out recently that I am lactose intolerant.

I very rarely drink soft drink, juice etc, except tomato juice, not sure if that is as bad for you as normal orange / fruit jiuce Undecided

Switched from drinking coffee, to drink white tea, no milk, no sugar, and have totally change my eating habits, and not as a diet, but as a lifestyle thing.

If my wife cooks, a steak and mashed potato, I cut the steak in half, and whack it on a wrap with salad, and that is my tea.

I also try to eat more regularly, 3 times a day, instead of just twice a day, feeling much better for it  smiley

They said on the fat show that people are taking in over 20% of their calories via drinks, so halving drinking calories you should be losing weight. I used to drink 1 litre of milk a day thinking it was healthy and i have great teeth as a result but didnt realise how many calories was in it as i never checked. Normal milk has about 600 calories per litre, some more  lol
