Nielsen Ends Drought For Patinack Farm

Trainer Jamie Nielsen ended a long city drought when Patinack Farm filly Meddler gave him his first metropolitan winner in more than three years at Doomben on Wednesday.
Meddler, a $120,000 purchase by millionaire owner Nathan Tinkler, showed she had a promising future by streaking home by a length over Falvelizabeth in the Mitty's Plate (1040m) .
The daughter of Elvstroem was later described by winning jockey Jason Taylor as a "keeper" after she unleashed a powerful finishing burst to score decisively.
Nielsen's career has passed through many dry gullies since he started training but it looked to be on the rise when he was appointed the original trainer for Patinack Farm two years ago.
Nielsen began training for Tinkler at the Gold Coast and has remained with him despite the former mining magnate's decision to move his stable to former Newcastle trainer Jason Coyle at Warwick Farm in Sydney.
Tinkler subsequently transferred his large team to John Thompson at Warwick Farm while Coyle is now based at Randwick.
Nielsen remained with Tinkler despite the stable's move to Sydney and now prepares and pre-trains 36 horses for Patinack Farm.
"I've got 36 horses on the books including quite a few horses I pre-train for Mick Price and John Thompson," Nielsen said.
"I used to train for the Cowells in Brisbane but I gave it away for a while and went travelling up and down the east coast with a fire protection system company before I went back to training.
"My last city winner was when I was training in Brisbane for Sam's Seafoods three years ago."
Nielsen believes Meddler, who was having only her third start, will make a successful transition to metropolitan Saturday class.

grandy born and raised in sarina nq home of munster{marty bella},dell{wendell},rowdy{dale shearer} etc its a small small town he comes over as a bit of a tuff nut but is ok after you get to know him.....good on him to be so long in nt's employ some would say a magician  trains better than given credit for.......grands did you forget our other non=performing prodigy dale |

My Mate had a horse with him in Brissy a few years Ago, i met him once
and think he is A Very Good Horseman, seems smart and treats his Horses
good, I was Impressed with what i saw

you have got to be kidding me the idiot trains out of Vincent O'Brien book, he knows nothing! he changes feeds three times a week, he nearly gave a horse penicillin in the veins until someone stopped him, he doesn't believe in galloping horse and he feeds them pony pellets . that's just the start of it! he is a con man and has u all conned, personally i think he has a picture of tinkler doing some naughty things. look at the end of the day what do i know!  |

grandy tell us how you really feel i normally do.....everyone makes mistakes and nearly isnt did...he was learning his trade when i was down as he came to watch us swim our horses off their necks up andown brekky creek to the handwash cafe and back had he committed fraud as you suggest his licence would be in question which after the winner and tinklers support that is not the case ps bob bentley could have trained phar-lap  |

nathans origional advisor please! how do u think he got the job in the first place, he was scaffolding in rocky.
do u really think tinkler just woke up one day and thought shit i might give 60 horse to jamie neilson, he burnt everyone that tried to help him, because they could all see what he was doing and he had to get them out before he would be found out.
maybe tinkler and him are pefect for each other two bloody idiots who know shit.

Well I just read that Jamie is $500 "lighter", after being "pinched" for having three (3) unregistered persons working at his stables. |
