Graham Potter, editor of website horseracingonly.com.au has approached the Forum with an idea to give forumites an opportunity to broadcast their thoughts on racing issues to a wider community.
Although not a member as such, Graham monitors our Forum in between his frequent visits to the racetrack and has been impressed by the depth of knowledge and diversity of opinion among our members.
Graham is seeking the Forum's view on a proposal that goes something like this:
Each fortnight, nominally on a Sunday, Graham will select what he considers to be "best of the Forum". These will be copied onto the horseracingonly site under the Queensland Racing section - although the posts can be generic in nature. Full credit will be given to both the Forum and the poster, using the poster's nickname.
If accepted, Graham will invites forumites to send specific topics for discussion. Priority will be given to the most passionate posts that provoke spirited debate. He will not consider posts that contain personal attacks on any individual.
Thoughts, comments?http://www.horseracingonly.com.au/

Well, I think it's totally HRO's purgative whether he posts on here or not.
If you come across anyone knocking you, DJH, don't waste time taking out a court injunction. I am not knocking Grahame, however, I think if Mr Potter wants to take our quotes, he should post on here and I have told him so. I am merely trying to expand our forum community. As for anyone knocking me, well, I expect it and appreciate it. I cannot improve with head nodders! I certainly won't be going to court unless they are telling untruths

It'll be interesting to see someone with the name DJH take out a court injunction.

Does Grahame do other racing business other than his site? I remember he used to review every race inside an out. But now he relies on exclusive bloggers to pen the majority of the articles.

Just to clarify, my posts yesterday regarding Grahame posting on here, was a bit of a rev up which Grahame will understand(hopefully)
I have been trying to get him to post on here for a while now and my posts were a public plea of soughts.
One of these days, I will get him to post though

If any other site sees something on here that's worth writing about, that site doesn't have an obligation to be a contributor here. I don't get it.
When we write on here, we write for the world - even if it is a crazy world.

No but with other sites they'd be doing it without our blessing, that's not the case with HRO of course.

Sounds like Blob has been doing a wonderful job.
Isnt he also on the tatts board
Isnt he also on a major Australia wide Racing committee that had the Jockey whip issue sorted in no time.
Wow he will be a shoe in to continue as an Industry leader whom ever should win the election.
Well Played Blob.
ps can you get that Photo of the finnish to DGH soon as it has been a while.

"10: RQL maintains the BRCs need less subsidy because BRC has best races and best dates. However, we also have far higher costs and need to operate at a premium level.
There is an enormous difference in the cost profile of a BRC meeting to that of, say, an Ipswich Friday meeting.
The BRC incurs costs for a Saturday meeting of at least $45,000 before we open the gates. So a race day has to meet those costs, as well as make up for the subsidy shortfall, as well as pay for the capital maintenance and improvements.
The short answer is that it can't.
We do not argue that we need a huge subsidy increase, but it is clear that the BRC, who generate about 60% of RQL wagering revenue do not receive a fair distribution.
It is our belief that we should be returned to the level of 2005, increased by cost inflation up till the current year. Our dates are the same as 2005, prize money has deteriorated in real terms since 2005, so I am not sure the RQL position is valid."The above is an extract from Kevin Dixon's statement about BRC's subsidy from RQL............. on the face of it his complaint appears justified. That being so he also made a comment that there are legislative requirements or obligations on RQL 'to keep the clubs viable" you would think that this opens up an appeal avenue to challenge RQL's position...............which it appears the BRC hasn't explored
