Young jockey Brent Evans, 19, to face stewards after substance test

 * From: Herald Sun
 * October 26, 2009 6:00PM

LEADING apprentice jockey Brent Evans will tomorrow front stewards after testing positive to a banned substance.

Evans, one of the state's most promising apprentice riders, provided a urine sample at the Pakenham races on September 29 which returned a positive swab.

The 19-year-old, who came to prominence after a hot run in Queensland earlier this year, moved to Cranbourne to ride for Mick Kent at the start of the season and has ridden 16 winners.

Yeah, he rode it a treat, too.  I took the $2.10 fixed. shy  Had the rails and the horse had the pace to do the rest.

I saw Evans ride a good race at Twba last week.  Hopefully he's back on track.  He's a talented rider. Thumb Up

Well done to Brent for his winning ride on Rothera yesterday  Thumb Up
He can be one of the best riders in Aus if he sorts out his issues. While he has improved , he is not there yet!
He is one guy I would be prepared to become a jockey manager for, if only to get his head right

I think his current manager is doing a good job of sorting some of those problems. It may finally be getting through to Brent that the sky is the limit if he has the right attitude.

It's a steal that he can still claim 1.5kg  Thumb Up

Cheers
