This may not best the best place to post this but newcomers may  be interested in reading a little about the late legendary Alan Woods.

There was a thread on the MSN forum which may not have made it over to this one.

This is an article which gives an insight into his operations.   Thumb Up

The Woods AFR article spends fails to address significant new revelations about Woods, instead parroting material from the old Tony Wilson piece.

In particular it makes no mention whatsoever of Woods' involvement with and ownership of Betfair.

That Betfair connection is very easy to verify, and would startle many readers.

It is still right now being dragged through the courts.

Yet the AFR apparently can't find it!

The Woods saga seems to be throwing up some inconsistencies - particularly when David Walsh's ramblings are factored in.

However while trying to get to the bottom of them these two apparently new articles emerged:

An obituary by a friend of Woods during his NZ phase.

A comprehensive article dealing with, among other things, the initial Woods Benter venture and subsequent parting of ways.

Accidentally stumbled onto this comprehensive article, which managed to elude me for a decade, about Bob Moore.

One of the more useful ones, adding handy jigsaw pieces to the Alan Woods potrait.

And here are some old insights by Woods and others one of a number of flamboyant once successful punters that played the suicide gambit.

That AFR article on Woods referred to one key factor, but failed to analyse it.

Namely that Woods left an inheritance of around 1 billion dollars!

The problem is that as Woods did not reside anywhere, the idea that his inheritance should be ratified at his last official residence Melbourne - in the 70's - is a sick joke.

The reality is that shysters are going to milk it for all it is worth - namely 1 billion dollars. So there is about as much left over as we taxpayers received from the Chase for Skase.

His protege David Steicke will feel aggrieved that his record of boosting shyster revenue by $38 million for a mere divorce preliminary will be obliterated by the Woods figure.

Now given that Woods had ample advance notice of his own death, and dedicated his life to dodging taxes, why didn't he figure out some way of transferring his estate to his intended heirs, rather than open up the mother of all shyster benefits?

Not only will he be remembered as a cynical crook, but as dumber than the average mug.

Some leviathan!

WOW!

You have really exposed your true nature now  lol

You really must be someone special

That being the case, I wonder why you waste your time on so many forums, bagging one person?? who we all know, Is NOT "one Person"???

You are still yet to say anything negative about the corporate bookies who are a much greater blight on  the industry then your current target.
Why is that so, jfc???

A recent update on Alan Woods' fight over a significant chunk of Betfair.

He appears to have won compensation.
