Ok I have put this on one of the forums, but thought I would start a topic to see if there is anyone interested  what

Looking to get a syndicate started 10 shares at $2000 per share and $20 per week there after.  I will retain 1 share so 9 left.  Plan to get a horse from NZ from one of a couple of conacts I have.  The last one I got was Lorenzo Bromac which raced for me for 12 months collecting over $25,000 in prize money in that time.  With all the transport costs and harness racing fees he ended up costing me $15,000 and we sold him after the 12 months for $16,000.  Pretty handy investment and bloody good fun.
I then tried to get my brother and his mates to purchase Willoughby from NZ which they could not get themselves organised.  He cost $20,000 landed in Australia.  He has had 11 starts for 6 wins 2 seconds and 1 third for just over $17,000 in prize money, in just 3 months of racing here (best mile rate).  He sat in the death and won in sub 2 mins at Globe Derby over 2230 Saturday Night, killed them.  I would say he is probably valued around the $20,000 now.

It is a fun sport however I would be lying to you if I did not say that the next horse could break a leg a day before the races and you kiss goodbye to your horse, such is racing.  Anyone interested conact me via email    trusspt@hotmail.com.

Bya, i am mildly interested.

Who do you intend to get to train it ?

Not meaning to be rude but I wouldnt be keen if its going to your brother in law. From what you wrote about Lorenzo Bromac, he did well despite the BIL  not because of him?

Regardless of which trainer he is going to what are the terms with the trainer 50/50 or standard fees plus percentage.

Antitab, when the brother in law trains the horses at the moment they go to Ray Gobles place who gets them going pretty well.  I have a bit of a spit at the brother in law usually jokingly, I don't mind his training so much it is more his driving (due to lack of it) that is the problem.  The $20 a week was based on us paying him to train ie no lease we get full prize money. However I would not mind paying a bit more to go to a different trainer if that is the consensus.  Also we could look for a lease deal and not paying any weekly fees, these things are open for debate, looking for people like yourself who are midly interested and will take it from there.
As Geo pointed out it is hard to get interested people though so at this stage Antitab hold on to that mild interest and we will see if how many with any interest at all.
Cheers Mate.

It is also interesting to note Antitab despite the ear bashings I give him at times, since leaving the BIL  Lorenzo Bromac has not run a place.  what

Boys, a horse coming over shortly from New Zealand, has been racing against the top class horses over there. To be trained by leading trainer, other owners are massive punters who own group 1 winning horses. Let me know if anyone interested.

Owned by massive punters with G1 horses.

Why the hell would they want some mugs on a forum to join their syndicate. A good forumite that got involved would want to tip it to all and sundry when it was "on" which would bugger up the price for the "massive punters"

rant

walter...the syndicate is one of several set up by this group to promote racing by drawing new owners into good horses. Clearly a few blokes having 100 on the horse isn't going to affect the price or tipping it to their mates.

No problems, you can see by my sad face in my last that I was not having a go at you, I don't take much too seriously.  How many people in your syndicates and how much per share, per week etc.

this horse will be around 50k, provided it passes the vet, so any sized share is fine, 1%-5% etc. the trainer isnt decided yet, but would be around 35 a day for the 100% plus extras.

mate im always keen to get in a horse with some good blokes
