Well after today's effort I think he deserves his own post.
The theory is you can only win, but of course you can make your opposition look very average - that he did.
He wasn't missed by too many on his debut and followed up today. Gave them a flogging - by 7 lengths. Wasn't flash away, 4L off them at the turn, he just skipped away in the straight.
Interestingly he's not nommed in the Aust Guineas. Surely he'll be nommed for Sydney features.

"That is about where we expected him to be," jockey Nick Hall said. "He just peaked on his run in the wet conditions."

He was tired after the tough run he had but kept giving right to the line, hard to judge the merit of the run as he is by Galileo and they love the heavy tracks so while the run was good it was against the B Graders on a wet track

I thought it was a great run, i think it's a bit of myth that the Galileo's love the wet i think they just handle it, if you look at the overall record i doubt it'd be any better than the good track stats,
Will be interesting to see what largo Lad does from here he's always been capable of a run like that even first up, if it has/does put it all together we'll have a serious racehorse on our hands

First up/heavy track--can sometimes stuff them--time will time.

Look at Baron, he has won like a real good horse twice at his only 2 starts on wet tracks and been well beaten on dry tracks?? he is by Galileo, I think most prefer it wet, but horses are still individuals, most Zabeels prefer it dry but some love it wet, breeds usually run to type ie, wet track types handle wet tracks, and Type usually runs to breed, but there are no hard and fast rules

He was mindblowing 2nd up last time, over 1400. God help his opponents if its over a mile.

Listening to Lloyd Linton is still 9-12 months away from being at it's best, but if it was to improve it manners in the next run Cups will be back on the cards

I think far too often we have unrealistic expectations - how's he travelling? He's run 3rd 2nd up at 2000m in JRA Cup. Second up last year Shocking ran 9th over 1500m There's horses that will run top 5 in the Melbourne Cup that probably haven't rated a mention at this stage

I think he looks 2 runs off showing his absolute best. He is either going to be a late Melbourne Cup entry like Shocking sneaking through in the Lexus, or maybe just maybe he isn't as good as I think he is.

Listening to LLoyd Williams I would be amazed if Linton ran in any of the big races this spring, I think Lloyd has a big opinion of him and has next years Cup im mind for him, even in the Autumn he will have a light prep 2 or 3 runs, may be set for the Australian Cup, win lose or draw I doubt he will go to Sydney, Lloyd is nothing if not patient and only really wants to win one race

Is that from a recent interview JP ?
What you're saying sounds pretty plausible.

He did a really good long interview with TVN the other day, and said that he thought The Aus Cup would be a perfect.
