Heard the first from Avondale today in which Chewing Gum Kate maiden ran. Didn't do anything but curious as to the name.By Don Kingston x Kate Lorimer.
Chewing Gum Kate was a racecourse "character" in Brisbane 50 or more years ago.Never knew the lady or what she looked like but heard her name  mentioned many times.In those days there were only 2 meetings a week Wednesday at the provincials and Saturdays in town  either Eagle Farm ,Albion Park  or Doomben.

She never missed a meeting  beer
