International racing in recent years have shown that Australia's sprinters are up with best in the world.  They've won races in UK, and several Asian locations.

Almost every year, we see a hot-shot sprinter emerge in Australia.

Thinking about a single extraordinary WIN, what would you offer as the most noteworthy sprinting performance (1100-1400) in Australia since WWII?

Was it Placid Ark, or Miss Andretti, or Manikato, or Maybe Mahal, or Dual Choice, or....

Please support your choice with some reasoning.

The performance that I remember the most is the second win of Rough Habit in the Stradbroke with 58.5 kg. He came through the field of 20 from near last in the straight to win. There is no way a jockey could have got a horse to take all the runs Rough Habit  took .Rough Habit  just  wanted to win.
I have never seen another horse do what  he did that day.

Yeah, no doubt RH's 2nd Straddy is right up with the best, ianb. Thumb Up

We will NEVER see a performance like that again at EF.

I was there for Private Steer's win as well. She only had 48 kg but did win  impressively by 2.5 l. Form guides have her settling in 9th place in a field of 20 and  8th at the 400m .In contrast I would  think that Rough Habit was all but last at the 400m and still found his way through the field.

I think Lonhro's Ryder win after coming back from the 2000m of the Australian Cup was stunning.

The best allround effort i've seen

Actually Wily I reckon if you were really really honest with yourself Super Imposes 2 victories in the Warwick Stakes were the best sprinting performances you ever saw.  Thumb Up

Well, it's not a mile but it's a tad further than 1400m
