I would say without having watched the race that he is purely a wet tracker or wants extreme staying tests.

The only reason he won the Victoria Derby was cause Extra Zero stopped.

A wet tracker who highlights just how bad our young stayers are

A wet tracker, at best, who's trainer has been busted for drug use

Oh please - this is a horse who won the Vic Derby when they ran 34 for the 600m.

He's finished less than 4L from the winner in open age.

Happy to wait and see how his form looks after the AJC Derby.

Not sure what to make of Monaco Consul now. Some very ordinary horses have won the VRC Derby down the years, maybe he's just another one.

Have you heard any stable comments Peter? I'm wondering if the stepup to open class is too much for him at this stage.

I thinks it purely 2000m on a firm track that is too much, give him 2000m slow/heavy or 2400-3200 good or worse surface and we will see the real top liner.
