Coltish back round a bend big chance, I think I'll be backing him, but Carrara is well in at the weights I reckon.

Perfect gate for Carrara too. Boy I was thinking this was the only race on the card I was keen on but having weighed it up its too hard to toss either of the favs.

As I said though I'll probably be on the colt, as I think its a 50-50 but he's $3.40 and Carrara is $2.80.

Better than $4.00 Captain Coltish if you shop around.

Well does that mean they're keeping Carrara real safe?

I reckon Johnny Fiasco might be worth an eachway ticket at those odds.

I was very keen and punted Captain Coltish...sorry he didn't win but still ran well - well supported by the looks.

Carrara was an interesting run...I always thought giving weight to seasoned horses was going to be tough, sort of looked like he was going to come into it but never happened. Perhaps the drop in distance didn't suit.

They probably have higher aspirations but he's the horse who could pick off a lot of good 1400-1600 races...Carbine Club, Qld Guineas etc.

Yeah he was off the bit before the turn in a slowly run race the start before. I didnt think the step back in distance would suit at all.

Captain Coltish should would have won if Zyzxx didnt go so hard in front.

Those were my thoughts as well Stuey with CC...just bleeding slightly having got $4.20 - I think he's quite a good horse...wonder if they might freshen for a Goodwood...new conditions wouldn't really suit though.
