I think Sandra did plenty to win,

Not sure I think she deserved to beat Parviti though.

As for Russel, I think he did plenty to lose, and if he ever makes it make to an other Survivor, surely he will have learnt from his last two games, and embrace the social aspect of the game, and stop being such an arrogant ignorant little weasel  smiley

I thought Parvati deserved it more, but no real knock on Sandra - she made plenty of moves. Russell had it their for the winning but his arrogance is all consuming, all he needed to to IMO was tone it down and play any kind of social game and he wins. Evem in the after show discussions he was kicking stones about being the only was that deserved to win.

If Rusty ever plays another game I would like to bet he is the first voted off no matter what strategy he plays, he's a bully who aligns himself with weak personalities, I reckon good on Sandra she didn't fall for his crap so he basically left her alone, if he is such a big fan he should have known she played exactly the same game when she won before so he should have got rid of her earlier, but if he took Hitler and Bin Laden to the final 3 he probably still would have lost.

Once again, people give votes to people who offended less. Has happened time and again.

Sandra did naught through out the game  Thumbs Down, couldn't win a challenge, was just happy to keep her head down and play the 'grey man' role. Only thing she could lay claim to was finding the idol. Even Russell highlighted her strategy was to get him out which failed  lol

Russell's brash nature has hurt him in the end, no doubt his uncompromising play went against him. Still he's changed the way the game is played.

IMHO Parv deserved the win, her head was on the block from day 1 yet she aligned well, won challenges when needed along with finding idols.

Can't believe she won again.

Two series I have hated her and she has won both. Thumb Down

The final challenge was good but overall I felt the last half dozen challenges were far too balance orientated and there needed to be a few more about strength.

People do not respect, being disrespected  nowink

those that do, would be in a very small minority.

I fail to see why people think he is the greatest player to ever play the game.

If he was the greatest player to ever play the game, than surely he would understand, that there is a fine line between getting to the end, and actually winning the million.

In the end, the game is, and has always been, the person that wins the million, is the person that gets the most votes, from the jury.

The game Russel plays, does not lend well to winning, where the people you upset, decide on who gets the million

Yep that was Russell's downfall but he just doesn't get it!  wacko  Yes he played well to reach the end but burnt too many bridges on the way there.  lol
I understand his point to a degree. Sandra was a weak player but won due to lying low. The general idea of a winner is to be the strongest, smartest, most strategic but the ones who win are actually ones who fly under the radar & don't make enemies.
The TV producers would have loved Russell as he would have drove the ratings up but that doesn't win you the million. This is why I think they gave him 100K as he was great ratings for the show.

The other thing I was really surprised about at the Final Tribal Vote was that Russell's speech could have been much better, especially that he was a VILLIAN & a damn good villian. Probably still wouldn't have won the game but I think the whole point of the show being called "Heroes v/s Villians" was missed.  Undecided

No matter what you think of Russell the effort to get to the final 3 of this series was big by him as you must remember he was by then close to 3 months straight playing survivor(there was only a week or 2 break between filming for season 19 & 20).

I'm sure it would be very mentally draining by the end of 2 seasons straight.

Parvati should've won this series by the length of the Flemington straight.

I agree, she won quite a few challenges & strategically was good. Even Russell said Parviti should have beaten Sandra as she was a much stronger player. (but he did have a crush on her)  biggrin

Agree with all of that.

Some interesting points that I found out from Probst's blog.

Russell came home from two survivors not knowing whether he had won or lost either. So the final tribal council for his first season is actually after his second season on the island. This was a massive disadvantage to him because he didn't realise that his strategy was so unpopular before doing it again in Heroes V Villains. He actually mentions his previous series in the last episode of H v V but apparently they took two different versions..... one saying how he knew his strategy would win by taking weak players to the final 3 and one how he lost.

I was away for the final eps but caught up - I can't believe what a dick! Russell was in the final tribal and at the count.

Look I give him points for the fact he hadn't had the chance to have a break and reflect on his personality and strategy, still I think after he lost the first game he played he would have had the chance to have a think about he he came across. As Coach did.

Personally I would have voted for Parvati - not because I like her but because she did pretty well in those challenges - I thought she was pretty strong at the end.
