What a great series we have coming up.
I'd say it's the best ever with atleast a dozen real winning chances

I've seen the best of Aussie pacers from the mid-60s - Hondo Grattan, Paleface Adios, Welcome Advice, Red Vicar, Popular Arm, Pure Steel, Village Kid, Reichman, the lot. On a given day or night, each could turn in phenomenal performances. But none come near Blackie for consistency and sheer guts season after season. It's a pointless debate, but his 4 Interdom wins are definitely not overshadowed by Makybe Diva's 3 Cups.
I backed him the place today at 1.72, and while I was feeling comfy all the way, I felt watching live that Ms Rasmussen had gone a tad early. 500 from home I thought MK would pick her up. But she knew exactly what was pulling her, and she must have known the race was hers a long way out. (Looking at the race again, I notice she was flushed out by MK.)
Hail the Champs. Great post

Yes of course, richo. Super pacer was the Wanless steed.
When ya got a head full of 50 years of horses, ya bound to miss one or two.

Watching it all yesterday, I kept having the feeling something was missing or not quite right. Well I finally figured out - it's the daylight. I'm just getting old and set in my ways I suppose, but I think harness racing generates far more atmosphere when racing under lights.

who said whip rule The whip rule in harness says you cannot cross the reins or take the "whip" hand off the rein. As far as I could see they all complied with the rule

Day harness racing leaves me cold compared to the night which is a much better spectacle, especially at Menangle

DD Despite being known as an avowed non nitpicker I must ask, how the hell did Red Vicar make that off-the-top-of-your-head list? Money must be involved, somehow.

I thought the same thing
We all seem to find our favourites that aren't top shelf.
Mine was Lea Sands
