What a great series we have coming up.

I'd say it's the best ever with atleast a dozen real winning chances

Not wishing to insult Blackies fans as he is a great horse but to talk about him being the "Best of all time is going way overboard, after all he would struggle to win off the second row!! Caduceus won off 36 yards behind at Harold Park and Cardigan Bay won off 36 yards behind at Wayville a 600 metre track in SA, if they were off the front they would still be winning Interdominions to day!! alright I am using a little "poetic licence" but to win 3 or 4 interdominions today with mobiles isn't anywhere near like winning 3 Melbourne Cups, if horses never went up in weight plenty would win numerous Melbourne Cups but it takes a much better horse to win 3 major handicaps than to win multiple set weight or WFA races(or Mobiles)
all that said congratulations on being the Champ for the Fourth time.

And I'll guarantee the depth of training knowledge and horse preparation in that day made the field depth in reality a hell of a lot weaker even at the so called top.  wink

not wanting to nit pick but Popular Alm was only out of a place 3 times and had a win rate of 80% from memory

Yeah he was a super pacer for sure, and both at their best would probably have beaten BAF in a match race.  But Blackie has an 80% WIN rate in FIVE Interdoms - and I reckon there's a sound argument that he was stiff for it not to be 5/5.   That has got a lot better judges than me calling him "the greatest".  I'm happy to be in their corner. smiley

Despite being known as an avowed non nitpicker I must ask, how the hell did Red Vicar make that off-the-top-of-your-head list?

Money must be involved, somehow. huh

Yes, Geoff I deserve to be pulled up over that.  Let's just say he was a very good pacer who would have had his name in lights but for injury and blowing the start of the 1972 Inter. Sad

well im home, what a day and a great race. the best horse to ever race in this country imo but i am a Queenslander and i do no his owners well.i sat with them through the race , it was fantastic to see their faces.
A hugh day for Queensland ( AGAIN ) Blacks A Fake, Maywin Jasper, Westen Cam went hugh but the one to follow was Passion n glory in the last. Went only 0.7 slower than Blacky winning a MO and Came from near last, the biggest run on the day by far.
Anyway im gone  sleep sleep
All the best for the weeks racing.
