Hanks is an interesting nom.

This looks an easier race for him than the one he is already in on Saturday.

Its got me stuffed how this race had group 1 status from it very first running.

If you take Denman out of the Flemington race, which one is the better ?

The reason it had group1 status from the first running is it is a replacement for the group1 Canterbury Guineas.

The Golden Rose was a replacement for a group 2 race thats name escapes me and it had to start from scratch.

I think the interesting nom is Set For Fame...now they wanted a Group 1 with her and they were heading to Sydney anyway.

If you wanted a G1 and you could run in both - which race would you run in...unless $$$ is your No 1 lure you'd run here. Wish I could get money on that option. Madness not to.

Only prob is...I backed her in a double with the Aust Guineas as first leg :_(

Thats the one.  Thumb Up  What a shame the great Peter Pan does not have a race named in his honor.

I dont think it was the correct decsion either as the Peter Pan was open to allcomers (3yo's) whereas the Golden Rose is a restricted event.

Its not really resticted, People can enter when they enter for the Slipper and I am sure there are provisions for late entries.
