Moroney was disappointed in Monaco Consul for his shocker last Saturday but criticised jockey Innes for not going forward early and landing on the rail. So we assume he's pressing on to this race.

He blamed the jockey for that performance ?
Incredible, Did Moroney have a reason why the horse hung so badly ?

Rider Leith Innes said Monaco Consul did not have his mind in the right place during the Derby.
Innes was satisfied he had done everything he could, but Paul Moroney wasn't convinced.
"For the life of me, I cannot understand why the game plan wasn't stuck to," said Moroney yesterday.
"We had a very, very definite game plan and it wasn't adhered to.
"I know the horse was a bit wayward in the run down the straight the first time, but he had two horses outside of him the rider could have used to drive him to the rail on the bend out of the home straight.
"One of those horses ended up leading.
"The rail was where we always wanted him to be.
"He was doing too much work in the back straight, got on the wrong leg and it all went wrong from there.
"It was disappointing to see the race run at a slack pace - that's exactly what we didn't want to happen."

Sherpa Tenzing looked good first up on the weekend - wonder if they'll head to Syd or Adel.

NZ staying has form has proven strong recent times, would be wary of them - not sure who's actually coming. Couple of Savabeel looked promising staying hopes.
