Madame Pedrille was a top chance until yesterday. Was on the worst part of the track(inner section) and probably is better over further than 1100m, but didn't show much acceleration in the straight.

Matt, the inside was off but drawing barrier 1 Ollie didn't have much choice. So the run was inconclusive.

This race seems to be one of the weakest Group 1's on the calendar year after year. How did it ever get upgraded?

Is Hot Danish injured? Surely this would be an easy way for her to finally pick up a G1.

Normally at least one true topliner rocks up to win in it though.

Alinghi won it - Divine Madonna got beat.

There are worse G1's on the calendar.

hot danish has trialled or exhibition gallop a few week's back- don't know if she is injured   - but i still think she has been placed very poorly
wouldn't be surprised her start next week and head to a mile- for a gp 1 dissapointment

For a mare with a 21:11-4-0 record I couldn't come to the conclusion she's been poorly placed. I think she showed in the spring she didn't go the Melb way as well as Sydney. She's not getting any younger either.

I think it's a fine G1 albeit without a genuine star this year.

Unless the handicapper and me are very bad judges,Headway rated 107 is as good a bet in a big race as I've seen.
