A Buddhist Monk attended a funeral party.

Many brothers had re-united at their Mother's farewell. They each thought of the other as being inferior and some even downright stupid.

THE MONK could see the friction in the siblings. To appease all, he told his TALE.

"Family and People are like the FINGERS on your hand."

"You see, each FINGER thinks it is better than the others."

The Monk explained.....

The Thumb....he says he's the best because when raised, it signifies BEST....GOOD

The Index finger comments..."No, I'm better because ,most importantly, when I'm raised, I point to give orders or I signify "No 1".

The Middle finger interjects....NO...I'm the best because I'm the tallest.

The Ring Finger replies...I surely am the best because my finger is used for Wedding bonds.

But the Little Finger has the last say....."I must be the best because when you pray to Buddha, I'm the closest one to him."

......and so ends this "Duke" tale...you see , in life, everyone is important and has  something to contribute.

(just ask ted e)
