2- AUSTRALIAN OAKS (2400 METRES)

Of $350000 and $3300 trophies.  1st $210000 and trophies of $2500 to owner $400 to trainer $400 to jockey, 2nd $70000, 3rd $35000, 4th $17500, 5th $7000, 6th $3500, 7th $3500, 8th $3500.

For Three-Years-Old Fillies. Set Weights. (GROUP 1).

No Allowances for apprentices.  Field Limit: 18 + 4 EM

Yeah but when you are on the best horse in the race surely you have to ride it to win the race?
I forgive jockeys for bad luck if they tried at least
Rodd did not give it any chance of winning.
Did not try at any stage to win the race, if he thinks he did he should rethink his future



Who is to say that if he goes 100-200 early she doesn't top out on her run with 100-200 to go and not win anyway? That almost happened in Crown oaks didn't it? I'm happy to give Rodd the benefit of the doubt because in my eyes he's the best Hoop in Aus and he doesn't get it wrong too often.

While it might not have been his best ride remember two things.
1. Once were Wild compounded in the Storm Queen and I did not expect her to run so well this time.
2. Faint Perfume beat the third horse by many lengths
