Field - Red Cadeaux.

You'd love to see the old bloke get there first this time.

Staphanos looks progressive enough to win this.
He's dropping massively in class from winning  at Group 3 level in Japan to a Hong Kong Group 1.
The race looks a combination of geriatrics and a few fillers.

Written Staphanos pronounced Stephanos.
Jackals love of Japanese horses continues.
The horse has a terrific closing speed and may go OK but not confident.

Smoking Sun is good enough to give Criterion a run for his money. I expect them 2 to fight it out.

Can't see how Criterion can be any sort of a win chance.
The race isn't in Sydney  and the track won't be a Heavy 9. It isn't 12 months since his last win either.

Sportsbet are offering "cash back" (as opposed to bonus bet) if your horse runs 2nd in this race. Also bet can be Mid Tote as well as fixed.

Have backed the toppie under these conditions.

The Japanese horse is too big a price to let him go around with out at least a token bet on him.

Can someone tell me what the fuss is about Joe Moreira  :what:

I wouldn't have him in my top dozen jockeys in Australia and I think he just confirmed that

Another one "slaughtered". Add that one to the half dozen or so he slaughtered at The Championships

Even our best, Young James can slaughter a few.

These tracks in Australia and Hong Kong were built with the sole intention of making quality jockeys look foolish.

Rubbish, very difficult to win from barrier 11.
There is always a lack of pace in these 2000 metre and beyond Group 1 races due to the overall lack of depth.

If there was ever an advertisment for running pacemakers, it is Hong Kong Group 1 races from 2000-2400 metres.

The jockeys do have the option of "getting busy" a bit earlier........

Always blames the jockey, been doing that forever.
Horse is not Group 1 quality on top of the ground.

I agree, provided they get plenty of rain.
