You see the same heroes year after year on the English jumps scene. Horses enjoy much longevity in this sport despite its poor image across the globe. National Hunt racing attracts many fans that are not really interested in flat racing. I'll use this thread for the occasional tip, preview or review.

I would love too see it on Sky or TVN. Everywhere on the net to view it either requires you to bet to view or be in the UK.

any link you guys know of?

Unfortunately as far as coverage goes there's nothing else on offer at the moment to the best of my knowledge. The best approach might be to lobby TVN via Betfair?

I think the best thing that could happen would be Betfair to gain the Tote license in Oz ( VIC first if that's what it takes ) and the UK. I believe the two products ( tote/exchange ) would work very well together.

I have never understood why the Tab do not bet on these events. They bring us the all wether stuff with four horses and so on with very poor quality horses. Very dissapointing.

Arakaan you can catch replays of some meeting at the Channel 4 site and Racing Post but that is not really what yoour after is it ?

Can you watch the racing UK stream on the Racing Post site?  I can't because I won't use explorer, but wondering if anyone else can.

I think the reason they show the All Weather stuff is that flat races have Thursday Acceptances for Saturday meetings, on the flat they have Friday acceptances, which means the fields don't come out until Friday night for us.

Attheraces might be your best chance.  fees apply but be careful. You watch on the PC but read the small print because you may only think you are signing up for a month while the charge is ongoing until you cancel.
I signed up for the sprint features couple of years ago but billed for 4 months.

I don't think we can do that in Australia. Sky Channel have all these things tied up.

The problem with Attheraces is that, apart from Ascot, it only contains the smaller venues, while Racing UK (whose feed is on the Racing Post site) has most of the major jumping (and flat as well) venues, i.e. Cheltenham, Sandown, Kempton, Newbury, Haydock, Aintree etc.

Not sure what you're trying to say here Manikato. Acceptance times for flat and jumps are the same. This was changed about twelve months ago. Both codes used to work on 24hr acceptances. The likely reason for no jumps shown in Oz is the TAB and their perception of poor turnover. Also many fields exceed the TAB limit of twenty four runners.

New to me Hillbilly, I didn't realise that any jumps races other than Group 1's had 48 hour acceptances.

He's probably the horse least likely to be taken on by many bookies too Johnny. Many will simply avoid the race altogether. Jumps superbly, trained by the best, ridden by one of the best and has a minimum of fifteen pounds on the likely opposition. Cantered home in the same race last year. The opposition require an accident for success.

Hillbilly,

Here is an article from the Racing Post which contradicts your assertion.

THURSDAY'S meeting at Clonmel is subject to an inspection at 10 am on Wednesday morning.

Turf Club spokesman Cliff Noone announced that the officials at the course would inspect and an announcement would be made prior to declaration time on Wednesday morning.

Good luck to Zabenz tonight in the big one from Aintree.

From Racing Post -

Quote
Pulled up first circuit here two years ago when leather broke; close second when made complete horlicks of the last in big 3m5f race at Sandown later that month; absent since with leg problems until two pointing wins this year; half a chance on old form but down only a pound since 2007 and an unlikely build-up.

A false start
Who would believe it

And again

Poor things have to run 7200m and jump 30 odd obstacles and they've had 2 false starts
