What a great ride,

Shinn still really looking after his mounts momentum.

The ride on Super Kin from Barrier 12 as good as you could hope for - waited until there was somewhere to speed up into along the fence.

ratsac,

I missed the result that race.

My comment was about the jockey - not me.

Didnít mind the trial Harmony Fire. Pushed out late but given the  opposition and time I thought it was ok

That's the bit I didn't like Wily, ok if pushed out but it wasn't responding and was yielding whilst being ridden along.

It raced better than I expected. Maybe fitter and up to 1200m will suit better.  :chin:

Back to the Tin today and a couple of cracking races later on.

Race 2 - #10 Super Auxim, we were on last start and looked home for all money before being swamped on the line and found to be lame , switches to the AW where he's trialed well and up to the 1200m, he'll give us a sight out front - currently $5.5

Race 5 - #4 Infinity Win $5.5 is another we've been on, found the 1000m a touch short last time, drawn to stalk the speed and will be in the finish, save #7 Viva Hunter $4.2 who will get home hard although up in weight.

Race 7 - cracking race with a number of the top liners stepping out,  #3 Sky Darci does look the one but $2.25 is short, I'd be hoping for a touch better to bet.  :chin: Might be a race for a SRM, maybe playing around and including #2 Mighty Giant #5 Duke Wai & #8 Tourbillion Diamond

Race 8 - #5 Packing Victory $2, up in grade but down in weight and should continue on winning. Obvious quin horse is #1 Ima Single Man who'll get home hard.

Race 10 - the big fella #1 Naboo Attack $2.5 again just needs clear air to show his thing, #5 Killer Bee is the danger although I can't see him sitting behind NA and running past him.

Good luck for those having a play.

No cigar ............. no complaints ............ but what is the takeaway from rough results?

Is 'early season' racing in East-China  unreliable -- does it take 'how-much' time for 'the form' to be established?

Other considerations?

1st October meeting at Sha Tin.

Race 4 #1 Daily Charm - I'm loathe to bet in C5s but this one fits the mould and matches the black book comment "wait for C5 and 1600+" which he gets today, around $6 might be worth a small investment.

Race 5 sees #8 Nervous Witness step out for the 2nd time, no bet due to the price but well worth watching. If you want one for exotics then #1 Carroll Street is promising.

Race 6 #5 Amigos Giggle slightly risky from the draw but up in distance suits and should be strong late.

Race 7  I think they will run along here with leaders like #1 & #7 so giving #2 Master Montaro a chance here to run over the top. Saver is the #4 Mister Snowdon

Race 10 #2 Drops of God is promising and will improve 2nd up. Saver #3 The Golden Scenery

I thought Kung fu Tea was good first up. R6
In the last former  Aussie Sky Forever was good first up over there. Not sure what itís name was here . Huge odds and one for exotics?
Gin, Daily Charm a bit stiff just then in the 4th

Wily - all the names are here --> https://racing.hkjc.com/racing/information/english/Horse/HorseFormerName.aspx

You can filter by local name / former name, even sire or dam, country of origin etc.

His name was Dance

Race 5 - #4 Infinity Win $5.5 is another we've been on, found the 1000m a touch short last time, drawn to stalk the speed and will be in the finish, save #7 Viva Hunter $4.2 who will get home hard although up in weight. There to win but couldn't get it done going down by 1/2L

Race 7 - cracking race with a number of the top liners stepping out,  #3 Sky Darci does look the one but $2.25 is short, I'd be hoping for a touch better to bet.  :chin: Might be a race for a SRM, maybe playing around and including #2 Mighty Giant #5 Duke Wai & #8 Tourbillion Diamond Buddies stole it out front, Sky Darci rattled when too late.

Race 8 - #5 Packing Victory $2, up in grade but down in weight and should continue on winning. Obvious quin horse is #1 Ima Single Man who'll get home hard. Nice win after being heavily backed.

Race 10 - the big fella #1 Naboo Attack $2.5 again just needs clear air to show his thing, #5 Killer Bee is the danger although I can't see him sitting behind NA and running past him. Weaving passage back on the inside to run 2nd.  :/

Good luck for those having a play.

Back to the Valley tonight & I reckon we can get some  :chin:

Race 2 - #5 Red Majesty ($3.30) has enough natural speed to slide across from a sticky draw and dictate from the front. Has had the one run back and now up to 1650m suits. Saver is the JM ride #2 Savvy Kingman (3.40) who should get a nice run behind the pace. Easy front running ride from ZP to get the cash :icecream:

Race 4 - #2 Party Warrior ($3.10) was desperately unlucky not to win last time out with a gap closing at a crucial moment. Picked up to still run 2nd. #3 Ka Ying Spirit ($3.80) for Purton trialed well and is the obvious danger. Run on nice from the back for 4th but never a winning hope

Race 5 - #1 Trader we were on first up off a nice trial where nothing went right sitting 3 and 4 deep. Chance that may happen again but tonight he drops in grade to C4 yet you can get $15, impossible to let him go around at that price and not have something on. Led from wide but found little in the straight

Race 6 - # 6 Harmony N Blessed will go forward, fitter for 3 good trials and gets Purton ($3.1) Saver the #2 Hong Kong Bet $4.4 gets the blinkers on and comes through the same trial as the top pick. I'm keen to take on the fav #3 Harmony Fire, no doubt promising but didn't like the trial at all. Another front running display from ZP to get the cash  ())=(

Best Party Warrior

All prices from B365. Good luck to those having a play.

Looking wet today in HK so maybe take any of this with a grain of salt

Purton out suspended too so could be a day for JM  :chin:

Race 3 - #3 The Anomoly, simply couldn't find anything to beat it, will camp just off the pace and be hard to run down. Well found around $2.5

Race 5 - #9 Fairy Floss, started fav last start on the AW and raced too fresh in a muddling run race, JM was very kind in the straight when unable to bridge the gap. Will get back from the wide draw and if they can make ground is worth a bet at $8

Race 6 - #11 Breeze Of Spring for Moreira, currently $4.20 Sat wide last start but kept coming to just miss, drawn better today for an easier run, hard to beat.

Race 7 -  was going to steer around this race but 2 really good trials for #3 Ultra Express on the AW makes it worth a bet @ $4.40, #5 True Legend the saver

Race 9 - Keen on the #1 Armando at a price. Went in the BB early on and has been a little wayward, trials have been good, blinkers & tongue tie go on and we're getting $15

Race 10 - #2 Master Delight was good first up in HK getting home hard, up in distance today suits and leading jock goes on. $3.2

Hong Kong racing -- cum grano salis -- no cigar again

When 'no one' gets much right ------ it is reasonable to ask why.

Today, rain was a factor ........ but, with such rough results, there is more going on.

Some early season uncertainty probably but, with the political demise of HK, minds may well be on other things.

............... HK may have had its day in te sun ......... and HK racing also.

The sting was just out of the track Peter.....that's all.....it's a rare thing.....so I had a little play.

Bit of breeding, not a lot of form study and watching the parade so I backed 3 of the greys, a couple of the Kiwi breds.....very nice.
Loved the son of Guillotine ,Super Winner  to hang on in the last.

Quite happy to show the slips.   emthup

Agree about the political demise.....that's bloody sad!

Back at the 'Tin for some Sunday racing.

Not that keen on the early part of the card, race 3 & 4 have some promising types but I just couldn't narrow them down  :shy:

Race 6: a Grp 2 over 1200m which sees the unbeaten Courier Wonder return against the big fella Naboo Attack. I'm sticking with #12 Naboo Attack, hard to ignore the 51.5kg on his back, as always will just need a touch of luck being drawn inside but he gets clear air, watch out, currently $3.4.  #6 Courier Wonder the obvious danger and #1 Sky Field at $11 could be one for the SRM selection.

Race 7: many of these are either first up or finished behind #6 C P Brave last time, he does go up 4kg but it was an authoritative win, rise in distance won't hurt & $2.7 looks acceptable so he's on top. The rise in distance will suit #3 Super Football too, should improve 2nd up and currently $13

Race 8: another grp 2 this time over the 1600m #7 Sky Darci at $3.5 on top. SD went to the line last time out marking time for the final 100m running up behind the surprise winner yet couldn't come off heels as was boxed in by the eventual runner up in #10 Tourbillion Diamond who goes in as the danger at $5.

Race 9: #2 My Sugar stalked the speed last time before shooting away for a nice win, drawn to repeat again today. #9 Master Hero the saver.

Race 10: The unbeaten #2 Fantastic Treasure returns, trialed well up the straight going with the smart Wellington. Thought we'd get better but $2.2 is acceptable. If there's a danger is the #12 Fantastic Way although it's up in class.
