Eventually, addiction and loyalty are swamped by reality

Tonight, an almost faith-restoring Joe-and-Zac night, only feeds the addiction.

I concede that G 'breaks even' most days but it is tough to see the sense of faith alone when 'time' is factored in.

......... it is the same here .......... administrators are wrecking the game.

............. thank you 'scott-trump'

The Q paid $466 on the NSW TAB -----  the question was 'who tipped the last two legs?'

Took tote odds for Secret Vision when $30 was available with the bookies.....backed in to $11 and $3.25. :o

Who tipped the last leg ,Peter???...not many "tipsters" here

Secret Vision is a very nice horse.... I spotted that a few weeks ago....well recognised now....into $4
He was $8 when I backed him last night.

Peter,

Getting 10% of that quaddy is nothing to boast about..... While it did pay good overs I prefer to avoid such likely scenarios...

The 154g first four on Saturday however... that's worth chasing albeit getting there can be a bit of a marathon.... even if technically it paid unders.....

Something jfc and I disagree on... one of the competition on different levels I referred to earlier.

nemisis,

No tickets as I batch process online.

I actually got it two times for tiny %'s with Mr Marathon Man being the hard work key to getting the result at 70/1 as below.

Not bad returns given the investment outlay...... BUT that is not the whole story.

Now nemisis I wont ever do this again by the way - proof of a 154g first four result more or less shuts out the requirement for lesser results for ever. People here already now I get roughies in that price range repeatedly so I am over this proof thing concern of yours.

It's not about a proof thing for me fours....it's for your credibility.
You seem to endure a lot of losers to get a result like this.

I have no interest in this type of betting.....I like to spot something about horses that price assessors have missed as well.

Mr Marathon Man has been on quite a journey since the days he looked an absolute star with Mike Moroney
Plenty of stables for him since.
Didn't bet in the race nor would I have backed him over 1200 on a soft 5.....what did you like about him?

nemisis,

Now that would be telling.... Some areas are best kept to oneself.

No problems with my credibility.  Prior comp wins there for all to see if they so desire - at large profits on level stakes.

Do not confuse tips for a bit of fun here with my actual betting.

ps I assume you noticed this as a matter of course >

1-4   MUBR      09 Jun 22   950   OPN-TRL   Good   B Price      -      0   1:02.98   -      Mr Marathon Man / B Price - 0   0.1

but that was not the actual reason .... rather confirmation of intent.

Well done!

[...even dunces can get lucky .....on 30/05 last year I posted

...........was losing all day .......... salvation arrived in the last race ....... a 1.15 cent bet on the Big6 was still alive -- the first five winners were coupled with the 4 place getters in the last -- the collect was 420 (320 + 4 x 25 supplementaries) ....  6.94 cents on the quadrella paid 215]

No fours...what I did notice was Mr Marathon Man suffered Atrial fribrillation 3 weeks earlier....poor fellow.

Severe AFs and heart arrhythmias can cause permanent heart damage...do you know that?

Glad you gave me something....I was beginning to think dartboard.

Well done anyway....good feeling the winning feeling.

nemisis,

The apprentice Price in the trial and  on the horse race day has that winning feeling - only been in the first four placings in 7 out of his last ten rides as reported by R&S..... including the real roughies. That strike rate is Purton level....  only achieved on rougher prices so more meritorius than Purton.

But again that was not the reason.

People simply don't look hard enough at the available data being my point.

I'm a bit "punted out" after a good day at Cranbourne, Peter...I love wet trackers!

I've put a few peanuts e/w on Attullibigeal @$11 and Seizing The Moment @$16.
Nice horses but no "form study".

Happy Valley track might be looking a bit worse for wear.

I'm going to bed.

Unhappy happenings at Happy Valley

At an un-happy valley last night, both quadrellas 'paid' some $40,000 onVICTAB. Luckily no one tipped us into a bleak night.

It continues to be remarkable that Victorians bet so much more on HK racing than punters in in NSW. One clue to this is in the unique Australian tote pools.

Last night Victorians bet $25k and $50k into the two quadrella pools -- the NSW pools were $3k and $10k.

........... those taking an interest in problem gambling may like to explore the difference.

Whatever, even on Saturdays Victorians seem unable to understand that the deck is stacked against them ........... being keen to bet at Happy Valley mid-week is a real concern.

Chaos at Shatin?

......... things did not go according to expectations at Shatin today.

The race results suggest chaos ------ https://www.tab.com.au/racing/2022-06-25/SHA-TIN/SHA/R/10/Win

Again, in Australia,  Victorians led the charge to lose money on HK racing.

Again luckily, no bets were proposed on the forum.

Well Pete sorry but I was at a conference all week and the weekend has been soccer  and dancing    for the kids.

I was on Tycoon Jewellery at $13  :tears: & found Voyage Bubble in the last, I took $3.8 and it blew to start $6.5  :bop: turned the day around to green in HK.

Thanks G ...... a good day to be busy

............ you are not responsible fo the quality of HK racing.

Circa 2000, it was my expectation that HK racing would be the global benchmark .............. that RVL&RNSW had lost the plot.

I now realise that I did not understand the plot ......... it seems to be as simple as 'build it and they will come'  ......... and gamble as if race outcomes are random because administrators ensure they will be.
