Morning SW

There were 3 or 4 that had finished in close proximity to Mer De G and were never in the hunt yesterday
Not so much a reflection on MDG but certainly on those behind her

SW, I see youíve tipped Mer De Glacť in the CC

Loyalty?

I canít line his form up with the likes. Of the better horses or tracks over there that Iím aware of. Almond Eye, Kiseki,  Suave Richard, Grand Chevalier & Rey De Oro etc

How does he measure up with that class?

I see old Suave Richard was rewarded with a Japan Cup win on Sunday but you have to wonder about the start given away by the jocks on YOU CAN SMILE & MAKAHIKI.

The latter must have been 30 lengths off the lead and still ran 4th

They went pretty quick early and Makahiki it is just his pattern to get back.
The Arima Kinen at least looks a potentially more star studded race.

SW, youíve got a few Raiders heading across East China Sea today.

Any standouts for us?

It certainly looks to be the strongest representation ever in my eyes

Sorry Wily only just saw this as been busy all day.
FWIW I thought Vase I had Lucky Lilac ahead of Dierdre.
Mile I had Normcore ahead of Indy Champ but thought Japan could win those two.

Salios, the ultra impressive winner of this afternoon's G1 Futurity, looks a monster.

Unbeaten and ran time.

Tractable, in that R Moore was able to put him into the perfect position in running without any effort at all. Jock reported he was green and will grow into his big frame in time. Expects he'll be able to go quicker in the future!

By Heart's Cry, who can get a decent horse or two, ex a privately purchased German Oaks winner. Theses blokes sure aren't playing around the fringes with their breeding.

The new Maurice, perhaps?

Japan saving the best for last in 2019, with the Arima Kinen this weekend having to be one of he hottest races on the planet this year.

Cop this for a likely field.

Almond Eye's the prepost fav at between 1/1 and 11/8 with the corps. We know she's good, but she'll need to be right at the top of her game to best this lot.

Don't worry she will be.

Best on the planet and the 11/8 will be proven to be a pinch. Get on!

The only danger appears to be Lys G in her farewell race

She'll probably win it but I'll be tempted to play her for second in a few exactas. If she draws a wide gate and Lemaire can't make much progress until the homestretch (which is rather short), she might just come up short.  And given half a chance I'm sure one of the foreign jocks wouldn't hesitate to impede Almond Eye which again could result in her crossing the line 2nd or even 3rd. The odds will be screaming for a play like that.

The one horse with the talent to potentially beat her in a fair fight would seem to be Saturnalia. He may be a tad overrated though. Lys G is very consistent but probably a little out of her depth in this field. I'll toss her in but am leaning more towards Fierement and Saturnalia. I like Lys G, Kiseki and Velox for third. At any rate, it promises to be the race of the year.

Almond Eye draws 9. Looks a good gate for her.

Now odds on everywhere.

Lys Gracieux will be visiting Maurice this year.

Huge compliment to the credentials of an unproven stallion.

Lemaire must almost be embarrassed for picking up his big cheque for basically having to do nothing but stay on..
