The new Racing Post website, www.racingpost.com, has traditional course maps, plus a google earth style overhead view for most UK tracks.  Most impressive.

For years I was a major advocate for the joys of the Racing Post website. That is no longer the case. The new Racing Post website represents the typical battle between style over content and functionality. It's a messy technowank at the moment and needs serious attention. A major step backwards in the quest to "look great".   emthdown

Spot on Hillbilly, the new website is verging on unusable. Wonder if they used the same ppl as Tabcorp???

I believe that the techno wizzes of Tabcorp, RacingPost, AFL and the Studbook have formed an alliance to build the best looking non functioning site possible. They are all succeeding horrendously to some extent. Some of the best resources on the net are now non starters.

On a positive note the Rome site for Capanelle racecourse is now one of the best - If you understand Italian. Free replays soon after the event. Full form.

What is specifically wrong with the new racing post site?  I actually quite like it, but then I only use it to read news and watch the racing reviews, which I quite enjoy.

Not knocking you, just asking?

My own issue is it is incredibly and frustratingly slow.

Matt, i've backed White Devil at 55/1 after the race, is into 12/1 now, there SHOULD be a protest, and it SHOULD be upheld, but we know it won't be.
It's be 1.01 here to be upheld

Rip Van Winkle on track for QEII Stakes
London
Monday 21 September 2009, 9:58am

Rip Van Winkle is set to head Ballydoyle's assault on Saturday's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Champion trainer Aidan O'Brien said on Sunday it was "so far so good" with the BGC Sussex Stakes winner, whose training has been interrupted due to a foot problem.

"Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman will both be left in and if Rip is okay closer to the time he'll get preference," O'Brien told the Racing Post.

"It's a case of so far so good with Rip Van Winkle.

"We have not had a clear run with him since Goodwood, but he's getting there and we're happy enough with him."

His rivals are set to include Group Two winner Delegator, who Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said had done well since winning at Goodwood last start.

"Delegator runs in the Queen Elizabeth II. We have been pleased with his progress since the Goodwood win and we are looking forward to the race," Crisford said.

Subject: FW: Interesting Race

Press on VIDEO TAB at top of result.

Greeting Gents,

Hope you are all well.

The race linked below certainly won’t come up for discussion next Thursday, but I thought some of you might find the video of the final Steeple race of the NZ season interesting. It might give some of you that don’t have Jumps racing and incite into what we have to take into consideration….
