Thought there may have been a bit more interest in the Belmont Stakes run this Sat as it could herald the first
Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in '78.

That may be true Autho but you can bet that he's racing against a complete field of drug cheats.
This makes it even IMO.
Who will win? Carl Lewis or Ben Johnson?

Looks like there is a great unease in US about I'll Have Another's Triple Crown bid. Interesting, I cannot think of any trainer in Australia who would so vilified by the racing public.

Been significant news last few days in US that champion jock Gary Stevens is returning - first ride back tomorrow. I read he'd had couple rides 2008.

HRTV commentator who had tv roles - including Seabiscuit and Luck.

Kentucky Derby -- do not rush to go racing to the roses in Kentucky

2KSky is promoting a grand tour of US racing -- with the Kentucky Derby the focal point.

Let me say -- do not even think about it.

US racing stinks -- and 'n one' in the US takes any interest in US racing.

Last May I was in Chicago for KD day and there was no where that you could put a bet on.

A couple of weeks later -- in Washington for Preakness day -- not one bar in 6 would switch, for 5 minutes, from football and basketball to show the race which was being run a few ks away in Baltimore.

Even in Las Vegas, there are now no venues devoted to racing -- 20 years ago there were venues devoted exclusively to racing: walk in , get a free sportsman and free G&Ts.

Australia is a last but dying frontier for racing -- in Europe also there is little if any interest in racing although the big betting shops remain legion in the Uk and Ireland with no one there.

I've been laughing at these sort of dividends for a while now.
For the life of me I can't fathom what the tab is getting out of this....is there a bigger picture I can't see?
There's as much interest in this as there is in watching paint dry.
