More time on sideline for Bobby El-Issa
Thursday, 12 November 2009
Queensland jockey Bobby El-Issa has been suspended for three months after being found guilty of failing to ride a mount out at Ipswich on October 29.
The ban is the second lengthy suspension handed to El-Issa during the last fortnight after he was found guilty of placing a bet before the Yeppoon meeting on October 27.
In the latest discrepancy, stewards found El Issa “failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to win or finish in the best possible position in the early stages of the race” aboard Over The Page in the Ainsworth Game Technology Maiden.
Over The Page was backed from $15 to $6.50 before finishing fourth, beaten 4.3 lengths.
El-Issa’s latest suspension starts on November 14 and will be served concurrently with his Yeppoon ban.
El-Issa’s suspension ends on February 14.At her next start on November 3 at Ipswich, Over The Page was sent out a $2 favourite and trounced her rivals by six lengths.
Doesn't read too well does it?, especially the last sentence.
