I suppose when Darren Weir's sentence ends we will have you and all the social media zealots calling for him to be banned for life too.
I wouldn't be using Darren Weir's name around any debate about who is 'fit and proper'.

February 14th is the next installment when the 10 criminal charges police have laid against Weir will be heard.......animal torture is one of them.

The video of Red Cardinal on the treadmill.......the poly pipe, the blinkers and the jigger will have D Weir and his merry men looking decidedly 'unfit and improper'.

So why have the authorities at RVL only given him 4 years?

And don't tell me they weren't aware of these things. We all know they were.

They only charged him with possession of a jigger.

I think that they intimated further charges/action could follow police/court proceedings

He accepted 4 years for a jigger.  Did not fight back or appeal anything.

Wonder why if people think he was so innocent ? :chin:

If Danny Nikolic or his legal advisors keep up with Court of Appeal decisions in QLD there's food for thought in the judgment of Boddice J who wrote the Court of Appeal  decision on Enright  the issue is the trial  judge's direction to the jury did not canvass that threats made (much more graphic than Nikolics were)may have been a temper tantrum and not seriously intended......a new trial was ordered.

Latest Internal review decision by Dep Com Mark Ainsworth confirming QRIC's original decision to refuse DN a jockeys license...... as usual no details are provided the public is left in the dark ..... although it would be obligatory for the decision maker to provide Nikolic with the reasons for this decision ..DN's next step if he takes it will be to appeal to QCAT...... wonder if the decision of the Court of Appeal on Enright  delivered by Boddice J would find favour with QCAT...could be persuasive...as there's no higher authority in QLD than the learned Court of Appeal ...worth a shot IMO.

Ben Dorries speculates Danny likely to try QCAT seeking a review of QRIC decision after losing out at Internal Review

https://www.racenet.com.au/news/danny-nikolic-knocked-back-for-riding-license-again-20200312

For what it's both Danny should look at the QLD Court of Appeal decision where a person charged and convicted of  making very serious violent threats WHICH THE LEARNED JUDGES OF THE Appeal Court overturned on the basis that he may not have intended to carry them out ...applying the same reasoning to Danny Nikolic's alleged threats to Terry Bailey is he is likely to be given the same consideration ...seeing he's  been disqualified for something like 8 years his penalty has turned into a life sentence....over to QCAT to join the waiting list .

With no disrespect to the learned judges the QLD Court of Appeal has had at least two decisions overturned by The High Court admittedly that was some time ago.
