Interesting that the stewards have commented that it is between the 300m and the 100m. And I'd agree with that.
Because before that he is hard into it on the home turn.
So maybe he had just given up.
Very strange choice of races.
1400m then back to 1300m then back to 1200m.
Methinks it is not best over the 1200m. Needs a little further. When trained by Mick Price it ran reasonable races in the Gibson-Carmichael and Laelia Stks - both black type races over 1600m.
And I did select the winner of Saturday's race in the tipping comp. skirting around the favourite
Stella was beaten only 0.4 lengths first up last time in by the well performed Aquitane (Godolphin winner of the Mick Dittmen Plate) and had run 2nd in the Provincial Championships final.
Threeood had recently won a midweek BM 70 race. It was going back in distance and rising to Saturday BM78 class. 3 and 4 starts ago it was in that class but was carrying 54 and 54.5 kg.
Some people are too lazy to read the form guide and then over-react when a false favourite gets rolled.
Whilst J Mac could have been a bit more vigorous between the 300m and the 100m there is no way in Hades the horse would have won.
