Do the little buggers get paid for rides for later engagements, after a meeting is cancelled ? Seem quick to sky the towel these days !

no,but i believe if they have mounted up in the enclosure, for a race, and it gets called off, then they get paid for that mount.
a funny incident took place when i was at eagle farm about 8-9 years ago,a horse threw its rider in the enclosure, rider injured, couldn't fulfill his engagement,so a replacement jock was found, horse played up on way to barrier, vet checked and scratched at barrier, both jocks received a riding fee

I think if they run a certain amount of races 3 or 4 and then call them off that they get insurance from the tab or something don't they ?

Not sure if jocks get paid for their remainder of rides though?

needs to be 3 races run to be deemed a meeting,if only 1 or 2 run, patrons must either get refunded entrance price,or tickets to another meeting, jocks don't get paid for rides of called off races

WE WANT TO GET PAID

Just adding if they do claim TAB turnover insurance then maybe we should be looking at giving some of that back to the stakeholder that lose out by the meeting being called of  :shy:

disclaimer* I could be way off the ball with my assumptions
