What a great rider she's turning out to be. She can position from the barrier and also gives no quarter during a race.My favorite rider. my bank balance also says that. 8-)

Yep and an appropriate time to bump this thread with a great and first G1 win for Kathy.  :no1:

Strictly speaking there are 5. Kathy, Clare, Michelle and Nikita all mentioned today but the first in Australia was
Maree Lyndon

I'm so please to see Kathy ride a group one winner - hopefully now trainers and owners will give her the respect she deserves as she has proven she can hold her own against the boys

Kathy, you are a legend!

The absolute perfect ride on Star Hawk.

$107.00 SP on Betfair - I'm off to the pub!

Good to see. Michelle Payne was originally invited to that meeting but Kathy took over
when Michelle was injured.

Kathy pulled the wrong rein yesty.....getting off her last start winner Circle Of Power for Fireball...the " coat tuggers" might have whispered in her ear as Fireball was a big shortener while Circle Of Power had few admirers but still delivered in fine style.

Gee she seems out of favour    :what:

On a day when most are interstate she has only one ride  :chin: Her stats on Racing & Sports seems similar to previous years at 10% win & 22% place

I've never had a problem backing her especially on leaders.

Guy walter put her on most of the time, she also does the show jumping a bit more than she used to. Also you have jockeys like sammy clenton and winona who get weight off and are better jocks.

Doubt I've ever seen her post about show jumping on race days so I doubt that has anything to do with  :what:

She hasn't been an apprentice for a long time so I don't get that comparison either

She rides less work therefore less rides

And you have the appretices who ride better and with weight allowance so more likely to put them on esp. As they ride more of the horses in work.

There will be a Michelle effect:

.............the ladies will be more confident and more aspiring -- and more winning.

It is entirely probable that an O'Hara will win a big race.

According to Sky Thoroughbred Central has fractured ribs and a fractured collarbone (clavicle), and is suffering some concussion.

We wish her all the best for a speedy recovery.

Was a very nasty fall and those injuries are not trivial.
