I've been looking at Jockey records through the Racing And Sports database over the last couple of days and there appears to be a problem with it.

It looks to me that the Profit/Loss $ and R.O.I. % on the number of rides is being calculated incorrectly.

My best guess is that they are counting the return on a winner without the original stake, so 3 rides for a $1.80 winner is showing as a -$22 loss not the correct -$12 loss.

I have emailed them and will be interested in their response.

If you had have looked closer Wenona those percentages were included under the category for punters who borrow their punting money from their missus with no intention of paying it back.

Therefore the R.O.I % is correct.  emthup

The thing that staggers me mate, is that it's not just this year that is wrong.

How can a site like this publish stuff that is so obviously wrong for so long and no-one notice?

I understand they've probably got programmers doing this stuff who don't bet and spend all their spare time playing Warhammer, but surely someone there involved in racing uses their own information from time to time.

After four emails I got reply from Gary Crispe saying they're going to look into it.

It's not just the jockey records, the trainers records are wrong as well.

Wenona, you are right about this. I had a look at a leading trainer the other day and had to adjust their figures by multiplying the number of wins times $10.

Happy to advise, the database problem has been fixed.

Big thanks to Gary Crispe for getting it sorted.   emthup

This site has been difficult to enter recently.  Can't get in at the moment nor this morning after several attempts.  Was ok during the afternoon.

Is the info of any worth ? You need something better than off-the-shelf strike rate tables and the like to get any lift.
